LB Farms is owned and operated by the brother and sister team of Robert Ligon and Frances Blankenship, Moulton, Alabama and they have been in the livestock business all their lives. In 2000 they decided to specialize in breeding Foundation Roan Quarter Horses and began building the breeding stock from several well known horse breeders. Jerry Jeppson of Wyoming, King Merritt of Colorado, KENSA Quarter Horses of Colorado, Broken Bones Cattle Company of Wyoming and Alexander Stock Farms of Alabama to name just a few.

The program consists of bloodlines by Joe Hancock, Red Man, Blue Valentine, Driftwood, Gooseberry, Salty Roan, Rip Rip, Texas Blue Bonnet, Leo, Bert, Lowry Star and King just to name a few!!

LB Farms plan is to breed 5 mares this year, 11 in 2008 and by 2009 the goal is to breed 20 mares. All the while continuing adding breeding stock to the program.

All of the 2 year olds are started with all the basics. After 45 days in the round pen we have local trainers ride for 60+ days. Then they are put on the trail (Bankhead National Forest) and finally started on cattle on the farm.

LB Farms goal is to breed structure, attitude, dependability and color in all future horses!
